Here's my CD cabinet. I already need a bigger one and I've only been buying the things for just over two years.

Awesome Hep! What's the difference between Marantz PM6003 and PM7001, as they look identical?

Hep how on earth can you reach the higher shelves?

:heheh:

That is a really small stand, but it doesn't take up much room either so I suppose you'll just have to get another one when you add to your collection.

Here are some more pics, including closeups of one of my Monitor Audio Silver RS8 speakers, my Hitachi FT-340 tuner, my 70 watt per channel Marantz PM7001 amplifier, my Thorens TD-240 turntable and my Marantz CC4001 five disc CD changer.

There's nothing like a big old honkin' analog tuner. Your Hitachi reminds me of my old Denon:

Interesting question. I bought my PM7001 just over two years ago and now that model has been "replaced" at the same price point in Canada by the PM5003 - but the PM5003 is only rated at 36 watts of power per channel at 8 ohms while my PM7001 was rated at 70 watts per channel.

Meanwhile, the PM6003 is rated at 45 watts per channel - but is sold only in Europe. Otherwise the features of all these amps seem to be about the same.

:dunno:

^^Not to mention most European gear won't work here and vice/versa because of the differences in our voltages.

Hep is that class A power, class A+B, or class B?

40 watts would be plenty to drive a 4 Ohm impedance speaker, like my ADS 300's. I am using a Hafler to drive them right now, a little overkill but they do sound excellent.:D

All the equipment is here, LG, starting on page 1. The ony difference now is one of the cheap Chinese-made ASL monoblocks blew up, so I traded them and their matching preamp to an old buddy for a newer PC for my wife to use. Fortunately when it went it didn't take my now irreplaceable speaker with it.

I don't remember if I posted a shot of the CD cabinets in this thread or not, so here's one. That would be me in the pic, blocking the view.

I dream about having cabinets like that for my collection. Sorry about your ASL blowing up, there is no doubt the "Mass Manufacturing" by even once reputable electronics firms has not maintained the quality we are used to.

I almost bid on an old Yamaha 1020 receiver last week on e-bay,,,but I would have to double the cost and send it to a guy in Colorado to upgrade the PS and Capacitors, then it would last another 30 years. I am so tempted though, and if a 1010 integrated amp shows up again I might not be able to resist.
