The Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd

But I'd like to mention of Uriah Heep's "Sweet Freedom", Deep Purple's "Who Do We Think We Are", Led Zeppelin's "Houses of the Holy", Black Sabbath's "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" and Aerosmith and Queen debut works.

I can't pick just one because I still listen to these four on a regular basis...

New York Dolls - self titled
"When I say I'm in LUV you best believe I'm in LUV, L, U, V"!

Mott The Hoople - Mott
"And you climb up the mountains and you fall down the holes, All The Way From Memphis"

Alice Cooper - Billion Dollar Babies
"Hello Hooray, Let the show begin"

Todd Rundgren - A Wizard A True Star
"We're prayin' for it all day and fightin' for it all night, Give us just one victory"

Here is the list from CREEM Magazine's Reader Poll for top albums of 1973. CREEM Magazine was always way cooler than Rolling Stone, Circus or Hit Parader. CREEM Magazine for me was a natural progression from Bugs Bunny, MAD Magazine and George Carlin.

1. Mott The Hoople - Mott
2. The Who - Quadrophenia
3. Elton John - Goodbye Yellowbrick Road
4. Rolling Stones - Goat's Head Soup
5. New York Dolls
6. Pink Floyd - Dark Side Of The Moon
7. Allman Brothers - Brothers & Sisters
8. Led Zeppelin - Houses Of The Holy
9. Alice Cooper - Billion Dollar Babies
10. Stooges - Raw Power
11. Blue Oyster Cult - Tyranny & Mutation
12. David Bowie - Aladdin Sane
13. Paul McCartney & Wings - Band On The Run
14. Emerson, Lake & Palmer - Brain Salad Surgery
15. Todd Rundgren - A Wizard, A True Star
16. Yes - Yessongs
17. Paul Simon - There Goes Rhymin' Simon
18. David Bowie - Pin-Ups
19. J. Geils Band - Bloodshot
20. Jethro Tull - A Passion Play

Plenty of classics not on that list like Montrose, Queen, Aerosmith Lynyrd Skynyrd....
