Re: Post your latest CD/DVD/Vinyl/Cassette purchases here!

^^90125 was a great record, something totally different than everything the band had done before. But I don't think any incarnation of Yes can supplant the 70's line-up, and I don't hate on Rabin either, he came along at the exact right time to shake Yes up and re-invigorate the band.

The concert I mentioned, Yes played for over 3 hours, no warm up band at all. It was fantastic!!

Re: YES live In Chile 1994

I guess that puts me in that tiny demographic that prefers the newer school Yes... :peek

Don't get me wrong, the original line up rocks and I like some of their earlier stuff. I just happen to like Rabin/Kaye era Yes more. I love the album 90125. Maybe it's because I'm more familiar with 80s era Yes that makes me who I am as far as a fan.

I love the Rabin era music. But they were brutal live. Even that 9012 Live they put out is kinda iify.

^^I've never listened to that 90125 Live album before...and I was not a fan of Big Generator either.

I Love pretty much all of their output up to Magnification. Keys To Ascension is vastly overlooked IMO.

I thought 90125 was very good, but I was too young to know their earlier work besides Roundabout. Maybe if I had followed them earlier I would think differently.

I didn't get into them until after hearing 90125. I knew a couple songs like Roundabout and Starship Trooper, but that's about it.

Yes is a monster. Everything they have ever done is worth a spin. You may like some... you may not like some but I promise anyone will find something to like along the way unless you simply hate prog in general.

Re: The Yes Thread

Just finished listening to the new album. It's not bad. The only thing I would say is that there's not a lot of the energy I've come to know from a Yes album. At times it's too airy. Nothing really stands out instrumentally. I'd say the last song is the best..Into The Storm

And what's so special about the Japanese that they get a bonus track?
