...just because there should be one here...Yes is my favorite prog band, actually the only prog band I listen to with any regularity. They're one of my three all-time-favorite groups of the rock era (the other two being the Beatles and U2, if anyone cares to know). I have all their studio albums, right up through Magnification.

OK, the thread's here. Anyone care to discuss?

Re: The Yes Thread

The Fragile album helped me get a B in Music Appreciation class in College. My instructor was a classical music freak and didn't like rock at all. We argued daily. I told him a group had kind of fused classic & rock together. He said it can't be done(this was in 1973). I brought the album to class and he took it home and listened to it. He liked it so much that he bought one for himself. I didn't turn in my required notebook and still received a B. He said it was for classroom participation.

I saw Rick Wakeman in concert in Austin Tx in the mid 70's. He was excellent.

I am with you Mr. Flee, so many people hate Tormato but I like it and saw them tour after they released that album. I love Chris Squire's bass on that album.

Fragile = My favorite Yes recording.

For me, their greatest moment was the Going for the One album. Right balance of great songs and instrumental power.
