3. 2. 1. Blastoff?

Holy ****.
What have I done all this time?
It feels like just yesterday
I was begging my grandfather for ice cream
And slurping it all up behind my fathers back.
It feels like just yesterday
I was so excited to start my highschool experience

Where the hell have I been?
I feel like my whole year has been locked in a wooden chest
Deep in the forest
Protected by my consumption
Of Adderall down my gullet

I'm the same person I was a year ago
I can remember exactly what I was doing
What friends I had
What I was worrying about
And no matter how many people tell me I have changed
I feel no different

Next year,
I'm gone.
It's over.
I'm moving on with my life.
In a place I'd LOVE to call home
And I'm sure I will, through time.
Through time

Change makes me worry
Just as much as it excites me.
But I know
Whatever I do
Wherever I go
I'll be just fine.
But still,

Holy ****.

So I was bored today in Study Hall, so I challenged myself and decided to write a 'poem' using only the first lines of song lyrics. It was REALLY hard, but I managed to get two stanzas out:

Poem Through First Lines in Music

You know that it would be untrue
Don't act like you can't act
I was an honest man
A long, long time ago

Something in the way she moves
I hear it in your silence
She never mentions the word addiction
I want you to want me

P.S. I don't want to send out the impression that I am a fan of Cheap Trick. The lyric just seemed to work with the flow of the poem. In fact, I despise them! :)
