Hey, so I'm kinda copying off of PC by doing this, but I decided to post a thread here with my selected works of personal poetry/lyrics I think of, and get down on paper. So I'll get started with a poem I wrote a month or so ago, about a girl I broke up with earlier this year:

Re-appearing Images

It was the day that marked
The ninth anniversary of metal giants
Coming to their unexpected hault
As broken glass formed the mold
Over thousands of broken lives
And millions of broken hearts

But although the sky appeared to be blue
The day we met
The annual curse remained still
Leaving a hidden gray overhang
That momentarily subsided for days
And has haunted me ever since

I loved you then
Just as much as I do now
But the forgotten cause
Should have preceded the effect
And it hurts to think
The cause was something or someone else

I question myself still
Hoping that each day will be the last
Of "what ifs"
And wondering what I could have done
That could have healed
The oozing open sore of our relationship

It is torturous to think
That all the laughter
All the kisses
All the hugs we shared
Were nothing
But one-way conversations

People joke
About the emotions
That still run strong over you
They blame it on me with a giggle
But as much as I want to laugh along with them
...I can't.

You have so much passion and soul in that one. I really really like it. I'll be keeping an eye on this for sure.

Here's something old I wrote back over the summer. I don't really know if I would consider it a poem, just something I had to get off my chest I suppose.

I feel like I am slowly wandering up a mountain
Losing air gradually
And then I fall

How would you like to have anything you say sound like a broken record?
You now know how I feel
Everything I say has been said
Everything I have done has been done
And every time I try being more original than another person
I either fall and hit my head
Or I rise to the occasion and stop suddenly

Even this sounds like it has already been said
Many, many times
It's too confusing for me to handle
I wish I could make it all fade into the mist
Wow

Isn't THAT Creativity...

More soon to come!

Thanks, I'm currently looking back at my old Facebook notes to see if there's anything I posted there, and I'll post all of that in here once I come across it, so you should be starting to see some more very soon.

Old poems from last year and beyond:

Strong-Hearted Flamingo
Late Afternoon
There stands the strong-hearted flamingo
Driving you crazy
And yet she doesn't budge
Standing upwards at peace
The beauty of the world around her
Would make her move slightly right
Yet the left stands bare still

True Value
A gold statue
Admire its lust
Beauty
Shine and
Immortality
How many statues
Must we throw away
To make room for a trophy

Peace Flow
What are we
A single strand of light
Flowing through the veins of man
That light
That brings us hope
Then may bring us
A possible hint
Of peace, prosparity and
Pertinence

In this circle
The mountains collide
And the seas collapse
A great force that demolishes all
Yet
We are still alive
Why

Why do we survive
Why must we all be here
There is always that single strand
That connects us all
And prevents us
From falling
Off the edge
Of Humanity

Why?
Why can't we just live
Live in the world where
Where nothing is an
An act of violence
Violence is not the answer
Answer my prayers
Prayers are only words
Words are what can make
Make us one
One group of friends
Friends that are Inseperable
Inseperable forever and ever
Ever wonder...

Wonder what that world would be like?

A poem I wrote after my grandpa passed away in June, 2008:

Right 'Till the Very End
You worked like a mule
You fought like a beast
Right Till the Very End

You never could understand the word technology
But always knew how to express yourself
Using old junk out of the garage
Right till the Very End

You always were with a rose in your hands
Sweetness was always right in your refrigerator
Love was always in your heart
Right Till the Very End

In the first 4 that you posted before the one about your grandfather, I really like True Value and Why?. The others are fantastic, but those two really show a lot of emotion and are true. Very nice work.
