^^You got to see the "hidden" side of things Aero, I could live without going through what you had to as a radio personality...:heheh:

I don't mind bands like the Clash doing serious music that has meaning, I also don't mind party rock or love songs, but I have to admit I never got what the kids were railing against in the screamo era. The world is what you make of it, and as far as I can tell kids today have things better than I did growing up, as far as everything available to them goes.

Not to derail the thread, but some things, we don't want available to us.. and certain things that we need available to us, we are sheltered from, and others that need to not be available to us, are:heheh:

I've always liked the pop punk side of the genre, even some of the more emo-y songs that Simple Plan released, because they are still fun.. they aren't 100% serious.. Like, when you stub your toe and say something like "Aw, **** me!" Some of their songs have that kind of spin, which was fresh when it came out.. Most of it, I agree though.. we still have plenty of injustices to rebel against or to bring to attention, but I guess the screamo guys saw that the hip hop groups were doing that, and they decided to go the opposite route..:heheh:

For me, the screamo thing comes across as sloppy and unprofessional, like the singer hasn't put a shred of time or effort into their craft. Call me crazy but I like that an artist care about that sort of thing if I invest time and money into their records or live performances. I'm pretty sure LG has a similar sentiment.

I also find it to be insulting and disrespectful to the audience. If the singer doesn't care about themselves or society/the world (a common thing for singers in that genre if you read the lyrics), then they sure as hell don't care about their audience and providing them with an enjoyable experience.

^^I wouldn't worry, Mud has noticeably mellowed over the last couple of years I've known him Aero...:D

I agree with you about sloppy production values and not doing the best possible job with your music, but I gather there is a whole new group of fans that don't care about that at all, almost to the point of encouraging sloppy/unprofessional sounding recordings...I will never get that myself, our whole generation was about getting the best quality concerts, recordings and stereo equipment possible, and now in ten years I am seeing it go extinct almost.:(

^^That's true enough there is a group of young people who have taken vinyl to their heart and want to keep the quality standards high, but I don't think we will ever return to the glory days of vinyl records...even though most record label executives realize they would have been better off never changing to digital in the first place now.

We are looking at a future of one flavor, compressed music that is portable and capable of holding your entire library, the ubiquitous i-pod.

If I could go back in time, I would take care of Apple corp...it would be one of my first mission objectives....:lmao:

Apple and Apple related products are over-rated, IMO.
Their computers are quality made but the interface annoys the hell out of me. i-Pods are also over-rated, they are basically an MP3 player .... that does the same or less than other MP3's.
