I have to go with Bill Ward of Black Sabbath

I take it you don't drum (I did for 14 years, and Sabbath on headphones taught me, I was self-taught and took up snare to read music)?

Angus Mortimer takes the cake. Bill Ward was a VERY technical drummer, with a SOLID foundation of the rudiments. You need to RE-LISTEN to Sabbath and maybe EDIT that.

Although his output is passable, if unspectacular, Don Henley is the stiffest most uncomfortable looking drummer I can think of. I was watching the Hell Freezes Over DVD the other night and it looks as if it's his first time behind a kit.
