Worst album you have?

Ladies Invited by J. Geils Band.

I bought Ladies Invited because Monkey Island is utterly fantastic, but it (LI) is more comparable to cats' pee. I took it out on to the step, scraped it along the concrete, broke it in half and threw it in the bin. I felt much better after that!

I still own Dry Run by The George Hatcher Band, but I NEVER play it. Talkin' Turkey isn't much better, because it has lots of brass. Why? They were great live though.

I am a Vangelis fan, but I don't own Beauborg. It is totally unlistenable.

I absolutely Love that J.Geils album Martin, many critics always rate "Sanctuary" above it but for me if I were to play one studio album by the J.Geils Band for someone who had never heard them before, Monkey Island would be it.

I can't say anything about Ladies Invited...I never bought a copy most likely because it was poorly received and back then I had to be careful with my brass.

^ I haven't heard Sanctuary. I know Full house is very highly rated, but I was disappointed when I heard it recently.

I could never wrap my ears around this..... I will probably never listen to it again.

Really? I'm not a fan of Counting Crows but by critic review standards and general fans that album is one of their best. What specifically made it that bad for you?​

Triumph's live album might be the worst thing I ever bought. I'm having a hard time giving it away.

I remember going to a used record store and trying to pawn off a Nelson CD a friend of mine found. I started by asking what they'd give me for it and ended asking if I could leave it there. They answered that yes I could. The trash can was right by the counter.

To each their own but I have to chime in on this as a fan of that whole album. I assume that you bought it after either "Mr. Jones" or "Round Here" and I find Mr. Jones the hardest bridge to cross with the band before becoming a band. After those two singles the album IMO is consistently great for that style of music and not one filler song in the bunch. Anyway, not knocking your dislike of it but I love knowing the reasons behind peoples choices!

I can understand that. I tend to gravitate towards singers that don't really sound like singers though. As long as they sound sincere and get the emotionally center of the song, I feel it. The singer here has an enthusiasm I rarely hear in a singer and can switch it to a sincere melancholy vibe very easily in the next track. Their definitely is a whine to his voice. That is fact. I think though that it's perfect for the material as I can't picture a beautiful song like "Round Here" being the beautiful experience it is sang with a perfect clean sligtly gritty vocal like David Coverdale. Coverdales a great vocalist but a lot of these perfect vocalist I feel an emptiness with that I don't with more colorful vocalist like Adam Duritz, Billy Corgan, Neil Young, etc.

That's cool. I can get with offbeat singers myself but something about that guy's tone (Corgan is up there too but manages to pull it off enough where I can listen to Pumpkins stuff) that I can't get passed. But I guess that's why they have trillions of flavors of ice cream. One man's garbage is another's grail.
