I've been listening to a lot of Tracy Chapman lately, and Melissa Etheridge has done some great stuff. And I'll always be loyal to the likes of Carly Simon & Carole King, to name just a couple. Whitney Houston was great years ago (one powerful set of lungs!), and Sheryl Crow is rocks! Add Faith Hill and a few more (Ok, probably many more) and I'm a happy camper.

Of late for me Stevie Nicks. Just got into her solo work, 2011 In Your Dreams is just brilliant and a nice change from the usual metal I get into.
