Since you didn't specify that they had to be released the year I was 16 and only asked for what we were into at that age ...

1. Black Sabbath - Paranoid
2. Rainbow - Rising
3. Deep Purple ~ In Rock
4. Uriah Heep ~ Live
5. Pink Floyd ~ Animals

With a slew of honorable mentions like
Budgie, Judas Priest, Yes , Rush, Queen etc.

The question needs some clarification. Do you mean five albums released in the year that I turned 16, the year after, or from any year before?

I would just say "you top 5 favorite albums that were released in the year you were 16". So, if you were born in June and three of your favorite albums came out 2-3 months before your birthday, it is still from the same year. I wouldn't overthink this, but take it however you like

Just listed these, and some others, in a different thread - just happened to be when i was 16:

Pink Floyd - The Wall
Rainbow - Down to Earth
UFO - Strangers in the Night
Tom Petty - Damn the Torpedoes
Queen - Live Killers
Bad Co. - Desolation Angels
Scorpions - Lovedrive
Boomtown Rats - Fine Art of Surfacing
R.E.O. Speedwagon - Nine Lives
Rickie Lee Jones - Eponymous
[ABBA - Greatest Hits II]

I know! - ten - it was a good year! - there are plenty of others that could've been mentioned. Am I totally biased when i suggest that it was one of the best years in terms of rock record releases....?

Five songs from albums released and i purchased in that glorious 1976.
Still have the gatefold copy..and even though i adore
Angel From The Coast..this:
Thin Lizzy - Boys Are Back In Town.

Queued outside my friendly Recordstore for this badboy:
Rush - The Temples Of Syrinx.

If you dig Beefheart..then Zappa is there too. Zoot Allures was up there on my wants list and mowed a few lawns to scrape up the £3.49p to buy it.
Frank Zappa - Disco Boy.

One of two Led Zeppelin releases this year..sticking it's elbows out against 10cc, David Bowie and Queen.
Led Zeppelin - Nobody's Fault But Mine.
