Just re-listening again to and possibly the most enjoyable late 1970s & early 1980s "Heavy Metal band" that rode in on the British NWOBHM phenomenon of 1979-1981 was the French band TRUST. I have nearly all of there cd albums all sung in French (don't let that put you off) that I bought back in 1998/99 which are all quite rare these days to get hold of anyway there are some nice guitar riffs on most of there songs and there most well known song is ANTI-SOCIAL which American thrash metal band Anthrax covered.
TRUST were a bit of a mixture of mostly 'heavy metal' guitar riffs crossed with a 'punk style' vocal delivery (fast and frantic for most of there songs) courtesy of vocalist and left-wing comedian Bernie Bonvoisin who apparently is a very well known figure in his native France but virtually unheard of across the English channel in the UK and also including Norbert 'Nono' Krief the bands excellent guitarist. Nicko Mc Brain of IRON MAIDEN was once was the bands drummer before swapping with the late Clive Burr of IRON MAIDEN. Also it is well known that Bernie and Bon Scott of AC/DC were good mates before Bon died in February 1980.
Of course in the 80’s, the promotional music video finally found a fantastic outlet with the creation of MTV and others that sprang up afterwards. Women had long before been objectified but swimwear catalogs were everywhere in the 80’s and so many music videos featured sexy women. Even the men had to look pretty for the music.
