Cool. A thread where I can pretend to be human. I was waiting for one of those.

1) The Beatles (they really did pop)
2) The Supremes
3) John Denver
4) Elton John
5) Various 50s artists (I'll lump them together because they weren't really universally pop in their day)
6) Lois Armstrong
7) Nat King Cole
8) Jonny Cash
9) Gordon Lightfoot
10) Jim Croce

Did I cheat?
I guess a lot of people might have their own Genre definitions. I'm glad you're enjoying the thread though. That's the whole point here.:D

The Supremes are a good mention, especially if we're considering Dance, Disco and R&B Pop here like many have.

I found this frighteningly easy. This is 10 and I've only just started:

Kiki Dee
Pilot
Darts
Burt Bacharach
Badfinger
The Beach Boys
The Beatles
Big Country
Captain and Tennille
Bread

Are we allowed more than one top 10?

Good to see Nat King Cole get a mention here - I love him (which is okay, because Carlos Santana loves him too).

If the Beatles first 5 albums came out in the 90's or 00's, they have totally been a "boy band".

Great list, Wolf. OMG, how could I have forgotten the greatness that was (and still is) The Turtles?! Shame on me! :bonk:
