First four Monkees albums.Lots of really great pop tunes that probably most people aren't too familiar with. Some absolutely wonderful Mike Nesmith written songs along with,of course, the Boyce and Hart tunes along with Neil Diamond's "I'm A Believer" and "Look Out Here Comes Tomorrow as well as "Pleasant Valley Sunday",which Carole King wrote with her then husband, the late Jerry Goffin.I've particularly been into "She","Sweet Young Thing","Love Is Only Sleeping" and Peter Tork's "For Pete's Sake",which was used as the closing song for their TV show's closing credits.Pretty generally,a joyous mood pervades throughout, with exceptions such as "I Wanna Be Free" and "Shades of Gray",which are wonderful in their own rights as soft ballads..........
