Re: Rate The Song Above You II

I've always really liked this song. The lyrics refer to Nick Drake a great favourite of mine. 8/10

Re: Rate The Song Above You II

Very not bad pop-punk. 7.5/10.

Lyrics:
An express train rushing towards to my house.
I'll fly to my home, like a bird.
I'll fly like a bird.
A new life starts - without "all hands' job", ensigns and generals -
Demobilization!
A new life starts - without "all hands' job", ensigns and generals -
Demobilization!

I'll come to you soon,
My native city will be sleeping calm
Covered by the maples and acacias.
I'll press my cheek to your cheek,
You'll wiping tears -
It's a demobilization.
I'll press my cheek to your cheek,
You'll wiping tears -
It's a demobilization.

And we'll walk in the moonlight
Near with future wife,
Сlatter by our heels.
And I'll not fear to get half-dozen punitive extra duties for that.
Demobilization.
And I'll not fear to get half-dozen punitive extra duties for that.
Demobilization.

And we raise our glasses
In the best restaurants
Not afraid of tedious lectures.
We'll not fear to get 15 days of arrest for this joke.
Demobilization.
We'll not fear to get 15 days of arrest for this joke.
Demobilization.

An express train rushing towards to my house.
I'll fly to my home, like a bird.
I'll fly like a bird.
I took off my epaulets and buttonholes
And I had already dead drunk -
It's a Demobilization!
I took off my epaulets and buttonholes
And I had already dead drunk -
It's a Demobilization!

Re: What's Your Weather? Part II

^^Weren't they predicting a drought this year Martin??

Turned on the telly to watch the Tour de France and instead they were still trying to get the F-1 qualifying grid set for Sunday's race at Silverstone. Have to give the fans credit they are a tough bunch sitting in the downpour until they finally lifted the red flag to finish qualifying today.

Beautiful here, about +10 C clear blue skies should hit about 20+ C later, BBQ time tonight.:D

Re: What's Your Weather? Part II

Well done, Bruce. You're pretty good at keeping up with our news stories.

The water companies had permission to declare a drought and initiate hosepipe bans, because they did not replace pipes, prevent leaks, maintain drainage and create reservoirs. Instead they looked after their fat-cat executives and shareholders. It was soon described as the wettest drought in history! A company which cannot conserve water in this country, is incompetent in the extreme. We get more rainfall than India!

Drainage is bad in the car parking areas at Silverstone, but there is no commitment to keeping it going. If Ecclestone could get away with shutting down the circuit, he would! I haven't been to Silverstone for years, but it had a great atmosphere, especially in the Kenny Roberts vs Barry Sheene era. I attempted to watch the F1 today, but no decision had been made as to whether to continue or not.

Re: What's Your Weather? Part II

^^I can't stand Bernie...or the Troll as I call him.

Silverstone is important, after all I think 8 F-1 teams are based in the UK.

However I think a lot of the tracks should be redone, the Turkish Grand Prix circuit is excellent, the race there was exciting and I've never heard F-1 commentators so excited on air about the numerous "overtaking" on the track.

Oh well I am not a huge fan of Formula One but do enjoy the Monaco GP.

Yeah I could never grasp that, England gets more than enough rain for anyone to declare a drought well, they should visit here or the Western US, they'll see a real drought for themselves.;)
