What are some classic rock albums that just sound exponentially better on vinyl? To give you an idea of my tastes, so far I have

Bob Dylan: Blonde On Blonde, Blood On The Tracks, and Highway 61
The Beatles: Sgt. Peppers, Abbey Road, and Revolver.
The Stones: Let It Bleed
D&D: Layla
Beach Boys: Pet Sounds, Today!
Hendrix: Axis
The Doors: The Doors
The Sex Pistols: Forget The Bullocks
Floyd: Dark Side, Wish You Were Here
Zeppelin: Zep 4

Look for a particular recording engineer instead of albums by an artist. Or, a series or something. It might be more fun and you may find that you have a whole slew of wicked albums you never would have known about otherwise.

Or something.

I have this among other "Audiophile" recordings by Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs.

Any similar type vinyl to this and you will get top notch sound. Back in the day these were the standards by which everyone else measured by.

I just saw one of these for sale on ebay for $119. Don't know if anyone was buying it but that was the asking price. Hell, I just may dig out some of my old vinyl and take a second look.
