I mourn the unjust murder via government.

I always linger a little longer over marked graves in the cemetery. You can almost feel their pain that remains above the ground. You just feel it in your soul. It wasn't meant to be, and they weren't ready, but I guess when duty called they went. They could only hope to be lucky enough to make it out alive, and those who didn't still ache.

(If you've never taken a leisurely stroll through a graveyard, I must say it's a beautiful and fulfilling experience.)

I greatly admire, respect and also think frequently of the men and women that serve in the military. Two of my uncles both served in WWII and I sincerely appreciate them, and all of those that both make many sacrifices and contributions!

Father-in-law Pete- Navy WW2 Navy corpsman during invasion of Okinawa wounded
Uncle Skin- Army WW2 infantry wounded 3 times in Italy
Uncle Jack- Air Force WW2 pilot flew 15 missions over Japan
Uncle Lee- Coast Guard WW2 gunner hunted subs near Greenland
Uncle Randy- Marines Korean War infantry fought for over a year
Uncle Mason- Marines Korean War infantry same as above
Dad- Air Force Korean War radarman remote radar station in the Sea of Japan
Cousin Johnny- Coast Guard Cold War engineer sailed all over the world
Cousin Jamie- Navy Cold War engineer same as above
Cousin Steve- Marines Cold War infantry served on Okinawa
Cousin Margie- Navy Gulf Wars supply Persian Gulf service
Cousin Rich- Army Vietnam supply Vietnam service
Uncle Ed- Air Force WW2 pilot flew 25 missions over Germany
Cousin Edgar- Gulf Wars & Afghanistan infantry served in Iraq & Afghanistan
Nephew Josh- Afghanistan airborne infantry served as sniper in Afghanistan
Sister Amy- Army Cold War MP served in Alabama
Brother Mason- Army Cold War mechanic served in South Carolina
Me- Army Cold War artillery served in Louisiana and W. Germany

Not to brag, but the Evans', Bakers, Porters, Wades, Paxtons and Dusz' have always served. The list above is of those still with us. Memorial Day will bring an entirely different list.
