Interesting side note: of the first 5 albums that Van Halen released, only these two were fully written by the guys in the band. I, II and Diver Down all had at least 1 cover tune on them.

Tough choice, my favorite song off both these albums is And The Cradle Will Rock...but I'll have to take Fair Warning as an overall stronger album.

Very close call though.

This is a tough one
i like both very much and listen to both of these albums constantly
im going with Fair Warning on this one

I'm still not sure how to vote for this one (and I made the dang poll). I like both of these albums pretty much equally. I might have to listen to each album back-to-back before I could give an honest vote.
