Another little bit of Van Halen trivia:

Eddie and Dave were fighting in the studio (I'm assuming verbally) and they left an entire hunk of Pretty Woman out because of the distraction.

I don't know if it's a chorus or a verse right offhand. I'd have to listen.

Ill have another listen to that song because I would be interested to hear if theres any difference.

I would avoid 5150, 0u812, ****, Balance and Van Halen 3 if I were you. The rest is all good :heheh:
Disagreed (almost completely)

VH3 is not good. Do not spend a dime on this album, ever.

5150 has some good moments on it

OU812 is TOTALLY solid, easily the best Van Hagar album (IMHO)!

F.U.C.K. and Balance both have a number of good tracks on them.

5150 was a pretty good album, don't see what is to hate about Hagar on vocals.

I first was exposed to Van Hagar through the Power Rangers movie back in the 90's. "Dreams" was featured on the closing credits. :oyea:

There isn't anything, really. Hagar isn't bad. I like 'Van Hagar' as much as Van Halen. Hagar's range is slightly less than Roth's, but just as powerful. It can't be that Hagar screams or screeches or wails or whatever. Roth does all that as well.

"Hagar, he sucks, man"

"Why?"

"Because man, he sucks"

"You said that. Why?"

"He just does, man."

I've found that most people's reason is, it's not David Lee Roth.

Lol I would like to think some people are more open minded then that.

I think the criticism with Van Hagar vs. Van Halen doesn't really lie with Sammy very much. I think it's just the shift musically in the post-Roth albums that a lot of Van Halen fans hate, which really wasn't Sammy's fault since the band was already headed in that direction as far back as "Fair Warning". To a lot of fans I guess they just look at it as Sammy being the different part of equation and blame him for the different output.

Indeed which is quite silly, but I am not surprised. Fanboys will do that to the extremes sometimes. :heheh:

5150 was a good album but so far not enjoying OU812 all that much. Something about this album is throwing me off a little. Might be an album that requires numerous listens.

Edit - Ok it got better at Finish What You Started. I enjoy this song.

Sammy started writing for Halen.. It kinda IMO a big difference to the fans.. Roth is more of a Party tune writer.. Sammy does stuff like "When It's Love" and a little deeper lyrical material..
