If I was just to vote for one it'd be From The Choirgirl Hotel easily. With multiple choice I picked everything up to and including Scarlet's Walk minus the lowest mark in her catalog Strange Little Girls. Little Earthquakes, Under The Pink, Boys For Pele & From The Choirgirl Hotel is a perfect string of albums. One of the best successive strings period. Now Tori's work from The Beekeeper on is still quality but I honest would need to truly revisit them all and let them marinate again. There's a lot of non-album work I own that could easily slot in among the best as well though. Still I think Choirgirl EASILY has Tori at her energetic, creative and emotional peak! :grinthumb

Tori poll yay!

I voted for my Top 5 (in no particular order):

Little Earthquakes
Under The Pink
Boys For Pele
Scarlet's Walk
Unrepentant Geraldines

The new album is really good! It is an excellent comeback to a time when she used to make medium length concise albums with several strong songs.

I left out Choirgirl but I also like that one very much! It is almost pretty much Top 5 material to me. To Venus And Back also I like but maybe not as much as Choirgirl.

Boys For Pele made it over Choirgirl because the former shows a fantastic variety of styles in songs like Professional Widow, Father Lucifer, Mohammad My Friend, Doughnut Song, Blood Roses etc. It is arguably the most experimental she ever got!

Unrepentant is great but already top five? I figured including it in mine would be a little kneee jerk at this point. :)

Yea I know it is a bit too soon to judge but I really like the new album! It is her best album since Scarlet's Walk, in my humble opinion. (though I do very much like several songs from Beekeeper and ADP)

I always thought about this and to be honest it's hard because it's always been in between Boys for Pele and Scarlet's Walk. Which I like the most depends on if I'm in the mood something softer (Scarlet's Walk) or a little more aggressive (boys for pele). For this poll I chose Pele just because I've been listening to it alot these past few weeks :grinthumb

My favs in order would look like this

1. Boys for Pele/Scarlet's Walk :bonk:
2. From the Choirgirl Hotel
3. Under the Pink
4. Little Earthquakes
5. To Venus and Back

Indeed! My favorite non-album which would rank #1 (if it were one) would be More Pink:Bsides. Scarlet's Hidden Treasures is also great stuff.

I voted the same way, but decided to show "Strange Little Girls", "Night of Hunters" and "Unrepentant Geraldines" some love as well. "Strange Little Girls" has some extra value to me, as it accompanied me through an important period of my life and "Night Of The Hunters", although a bit too long, is such a wonderful record with its classical soundscape. I think we all agree that "Unrepentant Geraldines" is great - one of the best albums of 2014.

Having said that I was actually tempted to just vote for all the albums, since I genuinely like them all and at any given point, one of them can move above another in my list of favourites. Ultimately voting for all of them would make the idea of a poll pointless though.

With lovers, buggers, & thieves.
Scarlet's Walk (2002)
"...there's not a lot of me left, anymore... just leave it alone."

I've lived this album in my head for years... it never gets old, for me.

My favourite is From The Choirgirl Hotel, just a gnat's whisker above Little Earthquakes. Third and fourth favourites are Under The Pink and Boys For Pele, it would depend on what mood I was in which would come out on top between those two. I'll keep this as top five - in this position I'd probably place Scarlet's Walk.
