Montrose, then Chickenfoot.

Montrose was a fantastic group, and one of the finest rock debuts ever.

I think Sammy has had a pretty impressive career and been a part of some really good albums individually and with a group. Montrose had a great debut but for me Three Lock Box is one of the best albums released that year and my favorite of any album Sammy recorded.

5150 was a great start for the new sound and songwriting of Van Halen. I do prefer David Lee Roth as the frontman for the band but 5150 is the best of the albums lead by Sammy in the band. I like 5150 more than Fair Warning, Van Halen III, and maybe even Women And Children First.
