I like that one a lot! :grinthumb If I'm going by singles I'd go for "Runaway" or "Monster"! :grinthumb

Well it is a "popular" list. Jesus Walks was another big one. I also liked Flashing Lights and yes Runaway is a killer tune! I'm loving that entire album.

Yes, that's why I'm not to worried about the choices. How can you dispute popular in a Top Whatever list? :heheh: Glad you love that album! It's nearly flawless! :grinthumb

I disagree with pretty much all of the choices. There's maybe 5 or 6 tracks on there I particularly like. I do agree with most of the artist selections, though. Props for Immigrant Song, that was a good choice.

My fave 2pac song is probably Only God Can Judge Me. California Love was supposed to be a Dre song anyway, I don't think it fits Pac as well as it fits Dre.

Perhaps but seeing him cross over to that label and have two big names together like that made for quite the monster hip-hop jam! :grinthumb I don't know if I can pick a fav from 2Pac. I just like the overall balance in his music and the scope of his writing. From "Dear Mama" and "Brendas Got A Baby" to "I Get Around" and "Me Against The World". He was the guy who introduced the gray area between goodand bad way before Eminem did. :grinthumb

Interesting choices. Just from a breif overview of the list, I could pick about 15-20 Beatles songs I'd have on there before "I Want To Hold Your Hand".

Not that it isn't a good song, but the Beatles were so much more. IMO anyway.

But as Sooty said, it's just a list, and everyones would be different.

(NOT saying there wasn't good music made after that.)

Woah, harsh man. xD Judging thirty years of music by less than 30 songs is just straight up delusional, hard to put it any other way. It's about as sensible as judging your grandmother by what John Wayne Gacy Jr. did, or judging the entirety of rock n roll from 1950 to 1980 by Terry Jacks' Seasons in the Sun.

The fact that even you found a song you like out of a mere 30 pop songs from 3 decades you hate actually goes a good ways towards disproving your own hypothesis. If there was one song you like in that minuscule sample, statistics would suggest there are thousands of songs from those decades you would like.

You don't have to like 80s, 90s, & 00s music. But claiming that this list is a sensible example of why those decades aren't good is quantifiably foolish.

:snicker: 2000 is mostly Rap and R&B.. nothing like rubbing it in to all us rockers!!

I have to disagree with this statement and I consider myself a rocker. There is a huge amount of good rock music from the 2000's as I've only tapped into a very small %. 2011 has been phenomenal. I can keep up with the all the new releases.

Terry Jacks - Seasons in the Sun....sappy song, no doubt...

This was my reason for my comment. And maybe there are wonderful great rock bands still out there.. But chances are.. They won't make these types of list.. On that note..What you said about a HUGE amount of new groups.. Sure if you like Prog rock.. I'm a classic rock kinda guy..
