Re: Official Tom Petty Thread I just don't think he went about presenting the point of The Last DJ in a way I liked and thank you, BTW I honestly don't know anyone that doesn't like that song, at least a little.. it is a masterpiece of a song.. it's hypnotic, it's energetic, it's drifty, it's simple, it has something going on.. It's just one of those songs And agreed 110% on your opinion of Mike and Mojo
Re: Official Tom Petty Thread I'm blatantly bumping up the thread... Are there any Tom Petty fans out there? I mean two posts since Christmas? Meanwhile we have a Madonna thread and a Backstreet Boys thread thriving... oh wait....this isn't the vent thread....sorry.
Re: Official Tom Petty Thread ^^ Yep. I haven't posted in this thread yet, but this is one song I absolutely love:

Re: Official Tom Petty Thread ^ Uh-oh...hopefully nothing bad... Anyway, here's a nice find... Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers - Refugee Saturday Night Live - 1979
Re: Official Tom Petty Thread I had an absolutely terrible day yesterday. Work was the best part of my day. People were making me so pissed off.. I think this song saved my day and saved me from running over any of the morons I had to deal with... Jammin' Me
Re: Official Tom Petty Thread Well, being as brilliant as I am.. I pulled a Tom Petty move last night, I got pissed, punched a wall, and fractured my hand
Re: Official Tom Petty Thread ^ wow...eberg....temper...temper... Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers - Straight Into Darkness LIVE 1985 High quality video...enjoy!
Re: Official Tom Petty Thread big fan of TP & HB. I grew up hearing the hits to the point where I kinda tuned 'em out. Didnt love 'em or hate 'em, just heard them way too much. About 3 years ago I started getting into TP's albums from the s/t up to about Wildflowers or so. I have a ton of respect for Tom and how he took on the record companies back in '79. He has always done things his way. Love him or hate him, ya gotta respect him for having vitually the same band for 35 some odd years. Even when he did solo albums he still had the guys on there.
Re: Official Tom Petty Thread I love TP and all of his work, but I've found myself to be a bigger fan of his more recent music as opposed to his older stuff. I like the classics a lot too, I've just found the newer stuff to get my attention more. Here's one of my favorites from his new 'Mojo' album:
