Ronnie's band may record unreleased songs with former Judas Priest frontman

According to a new interview with Dio's guitarist Craig Goldy conducted by Jeb Wright from Classic Rock Revisited, Tim "Ripper" Owens will be singing in place of Ronnie on some unreleased material the Dio band is going to be recording.

Says Goldy: "Wendy has given Rudy Sarzo and I permission to go through Ronnie's computer and find music. We are going to get together with the Dio band and perform with Ripper Owens. I am really looking forward to that. It has been a long time since I have felt proud to be a part of something."

I like Tim "Ripper" Owens, I think he will do justice to any songs Ronnie had written for his band.

If Wendy approves, then it works for me. That's the key.

I think that Owens's voice doesn't quite fit for the traditional heavy metal. For angry-power - yes, but for heavy .... Russell Allen's vocal (for example) have approached much more for the music of this band.2_sm5.gif
