1970 Chicago releases "Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?"

1983 The Rolling Stones release Undercover.

1985 Lots of Dylan is now available in one place as his five-album Biograph set is released.

1951 Frank Sinatra marries his second wife, actress Ava Gardner. The marriage, her third, lasts six years and is credited for moving Sinatra into his "mature" phase as a singer, with Nelson Riddle stating: "It was Ava who did that, who taught him how to sing a torch song. That's how he learned. She was the greatest love of his life and he lost her."

1953 Pat Boone marries Shirley Lee Foley, the daughter of country singer Red Foley, in what will be a lifelong union. Boone and Foley are both 19 years old.

1986 Willie Nelson guest stars as a corrupt cop on the "El Viejo" episode of Miami Vice.

2016 Leonard Cohen, ordained Rinzai Buddhist monk and songwriter extraordinaire, dies at age 82 after a life of music that saw him inducted into the Juno/Canadian, Canadian Folk Music, Canadian Songwriters, Songwriter, and Rock and Roll Halls of Fame.

1968, The Who, Joe Cocker and The Grease Band, The Mindbenders and The Crazy World of Arthur Brown all appeared at The Walthamstow Granada Theater, England.

1969, 'Something' the first Beatles A-side composed by George Harrison entered the UK singles chart, it peaked at No.4 in the UK and went on to be a No.1 on the US chart. The song has been covered by over 150 artists, making it the second-most covered Beatles song after 'Yesterday'.

1971, Led Zeppelin released their fourth album. With no title printed on the album, and generally referred to as Four Symbols, The Fourth Album or Led Zeppelin IV it has gone on to sell over 37 million copies worldwide. The 19th century rustic oil painting on the front of the album was purchased by Robert Plant from an antique shop in Reading, Berkshire, England. The 20th century urban tower block on the back of the full gatefold LP cover is Butterfield Court in Eves Hill, Dudley, England.

1949 Bonnie Raitt is born in Burbank, California.

1961 The Beach Boys release their first single, "Surfin'."

1977 Glam queen Suzi Quatro makes her first appearance as Leather Tuscadero, the little sister of Fonzie's girlfriend Pinky, on ABC-TV's Happy Days.

1985 Miles Davis guest stars on Miami Vice, playing a **** named Ivory.

1987 The Beach Boys' Carl Wilson marries his second wife, Gina Martin, daughter of legendary crooner Dean Martin.

1845 Elizabeth Reed Napier is born. She provides the title for the The Allman Brothers Band song "In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed" when Dickey Betts sees her headstone at Rose Hill Cemetery in Macon, Georgia.

1941 Tom Fogerty (rhythm guitarist for Creedence Clearwater Revival) is born in Berkeley, California.

1948 Alan Gratzer (drummer for REO Speedwagon) is born in Syracuse, New York

1948 Albert Bouchard (bassist for Blue Oyster Cult) is born in Watertown, New York.

1968 Led Zeppelin singer Robert Plant marries his first wife, Maureen, in London. The couple holds the wedding reception at the local club "The Roundhouse," where the group plays its first London gig.

1978 - The Clash's second album "Give 'Em Enough Rope," was released in England. The album would be their first U.S. release.

1981 - >KISS released the album "Music From the Elder."

1986 - Bruce Springsteen's "Live 1975-1985" box set was released.

1992 - Axl Rose was found guilty of assault and property damage at a 1991 Guns N' Roses concert in Maryland Heights, MO. He was given two years probation and ordered to pay $50,000 to community groups.

1947 Pat "Dirty" Daugherty (bass guitarist, vocalist for Black Oak Arkansas) is born in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

1950 Jim Peterik is born in Berwyn, Illinois. He fronts The Ides of March and later joins Survivor, co-writing their hit "Eye of the Tiger."
