1947 Glen Buxton (guitarist for Alice Cooper Band) is born in Akron, Ohio.

1950 Ronnie Hammond (former frontman for Atlanta Rhythm Section) is born in Macon, Georgia.

1967 The Moody Blues release "Nights In White Satin."

1986 Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band releases Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band Live: 1975-85; it sells one-million copies in one day.

1981 - KISS released the album "Music From the Elder."

1992 - Axl Rose was found guilty of assault and property damage at a 1991 Guns N' Roses concert in Maryland Heights, MO. He was given two years probation and ordered to pay $50,000 to community groups.

1972, The Allman Brothers Band bass player Berry Oakley was killed when his motorcycle hit a bus at the same intersection as former band member Duane Allman, who had died a year earlier. Oakley was 24 years old.

2015, Phil Taylor better known as "Philthy Animal" Taylor and drummer with Motorhead died aged 61. He was in the classic mark IV Motörhead line-up of Lemmy, Taylor, and Fast Eddie Clarke who recorded ten studio albums and the live album No Sleep 'til Hammersmith.

1945 Chris Dreja (rhythm guitarist, bassist for The Yardbirds) is born in Surbiton, England.

1950 Jim Peterik is born in Berwyn, Illinois. He fronts The Ides of March and later joins Survivor, co-writing their hit "Eye of the Tiger."

2007 John Petersen (drummer for Beau Brummels, Harper's Bizarre) dies of a heart attack at age 65.

1965: The Velvet Underground performed their first concert as the opening act for the Myddle Class at a high school dance in Summit, NJ.

1989: The Rolling Stones peaked at number three on the Billboard 200 Album Chart with Steel Wheels which went on to sell two million copies in the U.S.
