If we are talking about influential creativity you need to back up lots of years to John Mayall's bands, and the Velvet Underground. They were the birthers of many great musicians and hundreds of lesser know groups.

His musical career spans over fifty years, but the most notable episode in it occurred during the late '60s. nope actually the reason I pick gong is because they covered so much ground. If you don't like the space rock Gong there is always the fusion gong.

^^Gong makes me laugh, when I read about their history a few years ago. They are considered one of the greatest "Stoner" bands of all time.

I have 7 of their albums and I like both their spacey and fusion stuff.

The Sensational Alex Harvey Band was pretty creative. They could Kick Ass with some Hard Rock & then play something from the 1940's plus they were very theatrical

Well he's a street busker/tramp from Liverpool.
He's also highly creative,so creative in fact,that's not just any banjo he's playin,no,no no, that my friends, is a cardboard cut out of a banjo. How creative is that? hey?
