I love The Kinks and really wanted to vote for them, but The Stones couldn't be denied.

The Stones by light years. The Kinks were an ok-at-best band (IMHO)

The Rolling Stones. I do like some of The Kinks songs a lot though.

This is a really difficult one for me as I like more songs by The Kinks than The Stones, but there are two tracks by Mick & co. that I love - 'Gimme Shelter' and 'Paint It Black' - that no Kinks' track comes close to imo. I'm going to have to go with The Stones purely because of my great love of those two songs
