So many great bands came from Sheffield..
'It's grim up north' must have been a factor!
ABC were brilliant. Another band around this time i saw were Blue Rondo Ala Turk..funk on the jazzy side as was some Joe Jackson stuff with Ellen Foley.

What happened to Omar?.. looked promising...

I have no idea..I never listened to his stuff. Just always thought that one song was special. It still moves n grooves me..

This chap had a short successful lil spell and always like this one....could fit right in on the break up songs thread.

Everlasting Love was a Youth Club hit back in my go- but this got me dashing to Woolworths when i first heard it at the Cathedral RCYC.

Watched a Doc. last night about the invention of the Roland TR-808 drum machine.. It brought alot of 80's funk groups into the age of electronica.. Try to find one these day's and get ready to shell out some cash.

Afrika Bambaataa was one of the first to use the 808.. It went way beyound with many a group using the machine to enhance that deep bass sound..
