Both brilliant albums imo. Especially Before the Flood. Sometimes Dylan can be a little overpowering with his presence but with this album there is a very nicely balanced mix of Dylan and the Band. :grinthumb

surely is a well balanced mix of Dylan/Band...:bow::grinthumb

Just what is it about the Band's material that it seems to fit quite snuggly in with a night of '60's music listening that may also include more conceptually diverse mind expanding works provided by acts like Quicksilver Messenger Service,the Doors and Country Joe and the Fish?While at first seemingly incongruous to these optional mind expanding vibes,there exists an unnamed and intriguing similarity in the area of emotional conveyance.In each instance of truly great Vietnam era album oriented rock,the listener is greatly engaged in same manner as movie buffs are entranced by "Citizen Kane".The Band's music and lyrics both captivate one towards sympathy and perhaps even empathy concerning the group's well articulated folk musings.....
