I made a thread for them yanno. :D They seem to be growing on a lot of people though they're a relatively new band. Their first album was a bit more atmospheric in some spots with rock mixed in but their newest album is more straight on hard rock. I have one of their older tunes as my profile song but check out Sweet Sour my forum bro, I know you'll love it! :)

Here is the line up for Cambridge Rock Festival 2012, subject to change...

Focus, Caravan, Ultimate Eagles, Tygers Of Pantang, Stray, It Bites, Snakecharmer, Buster James, Kyrbgrinder, Remus Down Boulevard, The Bizzarros, Manning (the full electric band), Mostly Autumn, Flamborough Head (Netherlands), Exhibit A, John Otway Big Band, Mr So & So, Sankara (Ex of The Reasoning & Blue Horses), Heather Findlay, Halo Blind (formerly Parade), Malisan Rogue (Sweden), BoB (Band of Brothers) tbc, Paradise9, Stray, Marseille, Meet on the Ledge, ZZ Tops, Ultimate Eagles, Silverjet, Bonafide, and many more.

Some of these bands just added so again will be a great festival and some good beer :)

This is in August, anybody else going?

Looks very 'Indy', Reading isn't the top UK rock festival any more like it once was, Glastonbury, T in the Park, V Festival, Isle of Wight have all surpassed it, and apart from The Cure there's really nobody there I'd want to see, though who knows - I'd say 90% of them could be generously described as obscure. There's nothing at all wrong with obscure music/bands, after all there's a point in the evolution of any huge megastar band when they were all obscure for at least a while, but it must be tough to sell tickets for a festival with a line up like that...I guess Foo Fighters have a huge following, though I have no idea why. Seems to be a lot of the same old faces headlining these UK festivals these days, I almost wonder if it's run its course, even Michael Eavis (Glastonbury) was saying that he's not sure how many more festivals he's likely to do as it's getting predictable.

I would argue that the major rock festivals in the UK are limited to Download, Sonisphere, Bloodstock and occasionally the Isle of Wight depending on the line-up.

The line-ups for everything else you mention are either too broad or completely ignore all but a handful of rock bands IMO.

It would be great if the festival bubble burst, be nice if some of the prices dropped because they weren't cool anymore.

Yeah it would be nice if some of the prices dropped for sure, I would go to more and if they were less popular then I would get to see the main acts instead of watching them on a big screen or getting crushed at the front.

Wow, I figured they had problems this year, but Sonisphere at Knebworth has been cancelled.

Sonisphere Knebworth is cancelled.

2010 was an excellent line-up, the facilities at Soni were amazing, the layout of the arena and campsite were far better than any other festival I've been too and the idea of two main stages and bands following each other after just 5 minutes is straight from the old school, which means more bands, barely any waiting time and great value for money.

The events in other European countries I believe are unaffected, but this has to be almost a death sentence for the Knebworth event now. The problem is, Sonisphere and Download operate identically, they book the same bands and are only a month apart.

I heard about this, it is bad news for those who got tickets but there are too many big festivals and people just cannot afford them all at the price they charge. It gets more expensive every year and the beer is way over priced.

Another Download has been and gone and it was a blast, there were some excellent bands on over the weekend. It was muddy on the Friday and then dry for the other two days.

Saxon were very good and should have been further up the bill. Slash and Co were brilliant and did very well to say it was raining, windy and cold. (what a jeoke)

Black Spiders were fantastic and so was Sebastiian Bach, Anthrax put on a fantastic performance and again should have been on for longer further on up the bill. Metallica were fantastic as per usual. Soundgarden and Megadeth put on good shows and Sabbath were awesome as expected.

Lest not forget Rival sons who were on form.

What a great weekend, can't wait till next year:)
