Re: Spirit

If you can't locate it anywhere, LG, let me know. It's absolutely worth having. Many great, great songs.

Oh, and let's not forget that Spirit's personnel also included Jay Ferguson, who went on with fellow band-mate Mark Andes to found Jo Jo Gunne, and later had some modest success as a solo act.

Re: Spirit

I Like Spirit favorite album is The Twelve Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus. The first four albums are all good. Also a fan of Spirit of '76 cool covers and jams.

Anyone have Randy California's album?

Re: Spirit

These guys were great, rock with a jazz influence. Almost like Blue Cheer meets Argent. When all those skinny English boys were playing the blues, Spirit was one of the first to carve their own niche.
Well said, Emrock.

I'm a fan of Spirit. I love the sound of this unique band. Psychedelic rock with touches of jazz and blues at times.

I have their first four albums.

Spirit (1968)
The Family That Plays Together (1969)
Clear (1969)
Twelve Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus (1970)

Randy California (guitar, vocals)
Mark Andes (bass)
John Locke (keyboards)
Jay Ferguson (vocals)
Ed Cassidy (drums)

Elijah is a nice instrumental, that shows off the band's talent.

Spirit – Elijah – listen at Last.fm

And Nature's Way is a big favorite of mine...

My favorite Spirit album is Feedback. There is some great instrumental work on that album that gets very little recognition.
