I finally listened to California Blues and the best thing on it is a cover of Red House by Hendrix.
The other tracks are recorded well but are imho mediocre tracks.

The 1980s Randy California albums I like include Euro/American from 1982, Shattered Dreams from 1987 & Restless from 1990 and another album that I like is Tent of Miracles from 1990/91 which is one of those albums where every song follows on nicely with the next song and I especially like the second from last song Stuttgart Says Goodbye it's a good one plus the last track Deep In This Land is a killer track!.

Personally I like Kaptain Kopter & the fabulous Twirly Birds it is of it's time 1972 plus it has a good even interesting front album cover photograph with Randy standing beside a 'chopper' helicopter about to take off with a couple of unknown 'long hairs' (his supposed band members) with him with Randy looking really cool in his shades ;)

I recall Randy spent sometime over here in England during certain times of his life mainly during the early 1970s and I recall him gigging around England at various venues including pubs during the mid-1980s (a work friend back in the 1980s claimed he saw him perform in a pub in south London around 1988 I think it was?) and he even appeared at some festival that was televised sometime around 1987-88 cos I recall watching it on the television (a recording and not live) late one Saturday night with him performing as a 3-piece with two British musicians with him on the bass and the drums and not with Ed Cassidy his step father on drums.
