Mott the Hoople/Bowie - "All the Young Dudes" mentions T. Rex

In "Life on Mars" (1971) by Bowie mentions John Lennon

It's on Amerika's tortured brow
That Mickey Mouse
has grown up a cow
Now the workers
have struck for fame
'Cause Lennon's on sale again

And then in Bush's song "Eveyrthing Zen" (1994) they, in turn, mention Bowie.

Mickey mouse has grown up a cow
Dave's on sale again
We kissy kiss in the rear view
We're so bored
You're to blame

Also Bowie wrote the song "the Jean Genie" (1971) about Iggy Pop (obviosuly), but never mentions him by name.
In it Bowie says:

The Jean Genie lives on his back
The Jean Genie loves chimney stacks

In the 1977 song "Mass Production" Iggy seems to nod back at "The Jean Genie" with these lyrics:

I like to drive along the freeways
See the smokestacks belching...

Life is A Rock (But the Radio Rolled Me) - Reunion (1974)

This is crazy! Can't be topped. :gig

The Beatles "Revolution" mentions Mao Tse-Tung.

Arthur Conley's "Sweet Soul Music" pays tribute to Otis Redding, Lou Rawls, Sam & Dave, Wilson Pickett & James Brown.

REM's "It's the End of the World..." mentions Lenny Bruce, Leonid Breshnev, Lenny Bruce and Lester Bangs.

Neil Young with CSN on "Ohio" mentions President Nixon.

Lady Stardust brought up "All the Young Dudes," which also references the Beatles & Stones.

"Gimme Some Truth" ~ John Lennon

"No short-haired, yellow-bellied, son of tricky dicky..."

Tricky dicky is a reference to Richard Milhous Nixon.
