No offense guys, but I never in my wildest dreams imagined anyone would prefer the new version over the original. I think the new version is decent, but it lacks the warm production of the original.

So for me, CLEARLY Deep Purple.

I'd actually say I'm probably more of a fan of Whitesnake than Deep Purple so I'm definitely not biased. Here Deep Purple comes out way on top for me, for one Coverdale's voice on the original gives me the goose bumps it is so damned good. Everything about the original version is a cut above the new one imo.
