With all the female artists in the forum and all the Divas, I wanted to start a thread on one of my favourite Divas. Sarah Brightman!!! Sarah was married to famous composer Andrew Lloyd Weber....

She met Andrew when she made her stage debut in CATS. She really started with the HOT GOSSIP a dance group, and did record music on her own in the early 80's!!

It's really hard to give a complete run down of her entire history and career, so I supplied a website link and will post some cool tunes here. I hope there are already fans here, or perhaps gain some new fans.

ENJOY SARAH BRIGHTMAN

Re: Sarah Brightman

An interesting idea for a thread. I remember the surprise, when Sarah went from sexy Hot Gossip dancer to singing in an operatic voice in Phantom of the Opera.

The video of How Can Heaven Love Me with Chris Thompson is amazing (he's one of my favourite singers). She also recorded a version of Greg Lake's I Believe in Father Christmas.

Sarah's got lovely eyes and I like those photos of her with blonde hair.

I wish all of those collaborations with Chris Thompson were on one album. Some are on Fly and Live in Vienna; there is an album's worth of versions of How Can Heaven Love Me on a cd single. Sarah also recorded a duet with Manowar's leather-lunged singer, Eric Adams.

Yes she did! Brightman and MANOWAR....she rocks! :grinthumb

It came out REALLY well. Eric Adams has some killer pipes anyway.

Re: Sarah Brightman

Thanks for the YT clip of Where Eagles Fly. I think it is the first time I have heard Eric Adams give a restrained performance . . . but it works.

Just before I read your comment, I was thinking how I was looking forward to others contributing later in the day. It's currently 3:20pm here in the UK.

:good Sarah Brightman is a very good idea for a thread (she is certainly not run-of-the-mill), so I am sure others will have something to say at some stage.

There must be Andrew Lloyd Weber fans here who could chime in. I'm one of them, because I love his work with Tim Rice (Joseph, Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita). What I like about him is that he doesn't care what the critics say and just does what he wants.
