It would have been a real treat to be in the studio with Rush many times, such brilliance:)

Great pics on Permanent Waves and Moving Pictures , not many bands show studio shots !

My fav photos of Rush are in the studio , working on those chords and rhythms .... I have some footage of Yes in the studio working on their magnum opus : Going For The One .... fly on the wall stuff :)

currently entering about the 4th hour of listening to Rush , mostly live stuff .... Test For Echo , I really like that !!! :)

Rush is great, definitely one of the greatest I have ever seen live. I mean come on.. 60 something and still sound kick ass. Not many bands can say that lol. Oh btw Neil Peart is a freaking god haha.

those studio pics were taken at LeStudio

Wiki:
"Le Studio was a recording studio located just south of the town of Morin Heights, Quebec. It was regarded as the first 'environmental' recording studio outside a major urban center. Built on his property near his country home outside the village of Morin Heights, some 50 miles north of Montreal, the facility was conceived, designed & created by André Perry in 1974 and managed by his partner in life and business, Yaël Brandeis. The venue introduced a concept which defied convention for sound studios: a large floor-to-ceiling glass wall (which contradicted acoustic rules), providing an unobstructed view of Lac Perry and the surrounding Laurentian Mountains. André’s outlook on philosophy & culture permeated throughout: the location, choice of equipment, and the proficiency of its staff. The intent was to provide state-of-the-art technology with a nurturing, creative atmosphere.

Many international artists recorded their albums at Le Studio, including Rush, The Police, Sting, Cat Stevens, The Bee Gees, David Bowie, Keith Richards and Bryan Adams. These artists would hermit themselves at Le Studio and its guest house for the duration of their recording process, which could last from between one to four months or more.

André & Yaël Perry sold Le Studio in 1988. After several changes of ownership, the complex closed permanently and, at this writing, remains unoccupied and in disrepair."

This was the studio seen in the Tom Sawyer video that I am sure everyone has seen a million times. Apparently squatters have been trying to break in the place..really sucks. Can only hope the place gets rescued. :uh:

Lessons from the 2112 album. Now this track , I always thgouht was a bit different for them...OR could have been on the first album. But this seems to be more about their early influences.

Yeah, I think that is the last song Alex Lifeson wrote lyrics for. It does sound like it could be on the first album. Maybe a holdover they decided to put on their 'farewell' album?

...and the lyrics by Alex, always made me wonder that. That and the overall style. :grinthumb

Don't know about anyone else but I always get goosebumps on the Exit Stage Left version of Beneath, Between & Behind
