Discovered something new (or maybe re-discovered) on Ronnie. He sang lead vocals on a couple of tracks on Kerry Livgren's (from Kansas) first solo album, released in 1980:

I think that both of these tunes are pretty damn decent.

Ronnie James Dio. His projects just got better and better in my opinion. I have some Elf. Not bad. He is enlisted to join Rainbow. Wow. Really good stuff. Joins Black Sabbath. Perfect evolution with matching the band's music with some of Dio's lyrics. Creates the band Dio. As a young, still impressionable lad in the early 1980's, the image was powerful and the mood and music were fantastic.

As well as the Rainbow and Black Sabbath stuff with regards to his solo stuff I personally like Sacred Heart and Lock Up The Wolves. I bought Angry Machines about 6 months ago but haven't got around to listening to it properly but about 3 years ago a rock friend played me a couple of tracks off it and they sounded GREAT better than Dream Evil which I could hardly hear even with the volume turned up??.

IDK how this post passed me by, but that album was the first place I ever heard Ronnie (late 80's I think it was when I found the LP).
