When I bought this the only stones I heard was Emotional Rescue and Dirty work.
Man was i in for a surprise, I discovered what the early stones sound like!
I like Get off my cloud the best. This was a Jagger Richards composition.

2nd favorite is she said yeach written by Sonny Bono, Roddy Jackson.

The release Date for this album is Released: 25 September 1965.



I go back to this era and this album because of the energy each song has. because the stones seem so raw and free on this album. Now that am more familiar with the stones .Each era of the stones 60s. 70s and 80s had good albums but this in my opinion was the stones at their best.

All the Rolling Stones early material from the first album in 1964 to the Between The Buttons album in 1967 are a good listen and are all worth listening to although I don't listen to those earlier albums nearly enough these days. If I listen to the Stones I tend to usually listen to albums like Beggars Banquet, Let It Bleed and Sticky Fingers but those earlier albums are still worth another listen to.

As a collector, the different covers and tracklistings between Decca and London- lasted up until Between The Buttons.
Decembers Children in the US sense was sleeved in the UK jacket of Out Of Our Heads, and the US version of that was marketed with the UK Stones No.2 sleeve.
This was on the british release...and was a fair attempt at Marvin Gaye's first single.

Hitch Hike.
Dave Hassinger got little credit really as Studio Engineer..Loog hogging the limelight as chief knob twiddler.
Hassinger was instrumental in getting that Pretty Things feedback vibe that is prevelant in She Said Yeah.
Cut mainly at RCA studios and some at 2120 South Mich.This was the last 'covers album'..as Aftermath was a total Jagger/ Richard penned affair.
Often these London LP's were electroniaclly reprocessed stereo and played havoc with your 88's.
The Gerard Mankowitz photo gives it that beatnick feel.

Before the ego and infighting Bill was often heard in many mixes lending his clipped penge accent to backing vocals..this semi acoustic song underpins that...

The result is not totally absurd- but ALO's obsession with mimicking Phil Spector was wearing thin with the boys in the band.

I am currently in the process of buying the remaining earlier Stones cd albums I bought the UK version of Aftermath yesterday (21/06/21) although I still want to acquire the US version of Aftermath anyway the UK and US had different track listings on those earlier Decca albums.

On a train, so forgive the grammar( hangover!) the * Chevy mentioned was Loog just messing about- wasn't this an anti Vietnam war title? same as Paint it, Black... the punctuation created interest and that equalled sales. Those London albums were often released in 'electronically processed stereo'... and the early pressings were loud. I do recall on the sixties albums a small hole on the rear cover depicting stereo or mono... the inner sleeve was coloured accordingly...
