What is Ether ?! :wtf:

It's an anesthetic that was used in old days. Inhalation was the primary route of administration.

Diethyl ether - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The anesthetic effects of ether have made it a recreational drug. Diethyl ether in anesthetic dosage is an inhalant which has a long history of recreational use. One advantage is a well-defined margin between therapeutic and toxic doses, which means one would pass out before dangerous levels of dissolved ether in blood would be reached. With a strong, dense smell, ether causes irritation to respiratory mucosa and is uncomfortable to breathe, often triggering salivation, vomiting, coughing or spasms. In concentrations of 3-5% in air, an anesthetic effect can slowly be achieved in 15–20 minutes of breathing approximately 15-20ml of ether, depending on body weight and physical condition. Ether causes a very long excitation stage prior to blacking out.

^^Thanks for the definitive answer Phil...:D

I'm not advocating use of a dangerous amount of ether, a little goes a long way and if you do it responsibly it is less harmful than drinking or smoking. I've only experimented with it twice and it was medicinal grade either that hospitals use. The effects are unique, I can't really describe it other than with a group of good friends in a positive atmosphere it was a lot of fun.:)

Neither really, but I guess you could say I inhaled enough of my parents second-hand smoke. :uh:
