Ringing on CD's

Not all but a lot of my cd's I record off my compter have a ringing back noise, it's super annoying in the car. Anyone know if it's the Memorex cd-r or the computer, I really have no way of comparing other computer recordings...

First are you recording MP3's to CD-R Wav format or does your car stereo support MP3 format Taha?

If you are Transcoding from MP3 format to a WAV-CD then that is never good for quality. The CD-R's themselves are a non factor, they only record the signal being fed to them, wouldn't make any difference if it's Maxell, Verbatim or any other manufacturer.

I have about 50 coasters I have burned which just didn't sound right, I keep a few around just to remind me to always do a practice burn on a CD-RW before a permanent copy. And I never transcode anymore,,,if it's a FLAC to WAV format then it gets a CD-R burn,(FLAC & WAV are both Lossless formats) if it's MP3 then it goes to DVD archive storage, and I simply load the albums/songs on my Sansa when I want to change my library.

to tell you the truth I don't know, I just record my CD's on the puters window media player then burn car copies for travel destruction ( always use my originals on my Classe'/Linn at home )
I need to learn more about Flac/Wav/etc.....

Okay I understand,,,if you want a detailed explanation and some options for burning your CD's let me know and I'll post what I've learned in here for you.

First off, make sure you have the latest version of Windows Media Player to burn from...........

Second, check the burn settings in WMP........click on burn>more options....in the menu click the burn tab.........make sure you use a SLOW burn speed..........make sure you have the volume leveling check marked.....and make the file format WPL......then make sure the little button "do not convert" is selected.

It is highly unlikely your PC is doing anything to the sound quality of what you burn, it is more likely either the files are low quality/low bit rate, or you dont have the settings proper in WMP.

I did a bit of Googling... it appears that Memorex changed to a lesser quality manufacturing plant, and they are basically just crappy. I'm using HP brand with good success.

I bought a 5 pack of memorex not too long ago, and they wouldn't even burn at all..........PURE JUNK.

I have never had any trouble with Memorex CD-R's, but I have used more HP and Verbatim than any other brand with good success.

If you want the absolute best quality from your digital music Taha, there are far better apps than WMP for burning, I never use it myself.

jeez, I had the rip file on the lowest and the burn on fastest , lets see how the opposite works !
