    Often used to get off the bus on the way home..have a smoke in Dannys Records..see what plates or 10" and 12" were new. Not many white guys went in Dannys- but he was a Radford man...and so was my Mother..a small shop in a poor part of town ..had a big impact on me.

    Used to go to Rebel Sound System nights..a real choice boozer called Sir Robert Clifton..converted double wardrobes housing huge speakers..you only drank pints of heavy. Found it by mistake one night after walking out on a party in a Squash Court..converted on the spot.
