Beautiful guitar composition, I play as a hobby, amateur fashion, guitar so this is really right up my street. 9/10
I have a confession, I picked this next song not totally because of the song and artist but also because of the famous young guitarist involved in this music.....
Probably one of the last "1950's songs" from the early 60s as it still has that same sound from the previous decade. IMO, this was the year in which you saw a lot of change in music. You had singers/bands like this one along with other 50s sounding hits like "My Boyfriend's Back" hitting the charts. But then you also had the emergence of the Beach Boys and surfer music along with the beginning of 60s folk/psychedelia with other bands like Peter, Paul, and Mary doing "Blowing In The Wind." I think the change in music was aptly shown in the film American Graffiti where the older guy (who likes singers like Buddy Holly) argues with the younger girl who likes The Beach Boys. It must've been a strange time in music...much like when early 1980s New Wave replaced disco or when early 90s Grunge replaced the hair bands of the late 80s. Anyways, I liked the song with a young Ritchie Blackmore on guitar(!) and I give it a 7/10.
Yes they stepped things up a gear..Dakota and this in particular...did their tours to the U.S rub off or did the 'ColdplaySound' infect them?..they seemed to lose that "Bartender welsh edge"...maybe cash just rounds off the edges...anyways 7/10 because it is cool.
The day that was purely in it..some geezer from Donegal with a battered Fender and AC30.
