Nostalgic rhythm-and-blues cover with string arrangement. Zeppelin's singer from a completely new side. Excellently crafted song (and a huge hit, for sure). 10/10.
Love the strings in this one. I'm really starting to appreciate Peter Gabriel's music now after dismissing him for so many years. A couple of his pop hits, like Sledgehammer and Shock The Monkey, initially turned me off. But now I realize that he has other songs in his catalog that sound nothing like these and are actually quite good. 8/10
Sounds very European. I guess this was their version of disco. The lyrics aren't going to strain anyone's brain cells, but it's a simple, fun song that would get people up to dance. 7/10
Excellent stuff Aero-beyond Level 42.
Bass playing and entire rhythm section are on fire! 8/10
Found this on an obscure compilation....
Animals (not Floyd.)
Always wanted to hear a Perry Como song. Very smooth voice...I can see why he was a popular crooner in his time. While I knew he was around in the 40s, 50s, and 60s, he apparently made records up until the late 80s. That's a huge catalog of music. Might be worth a trip down the rabbit hole to see what I discover. 7.5/10
You can't go wrong with Kamen, from an equally excellent movie. Nice "blues at midnight" feel... shame it doesn't move or travel on. Good - 7/10
