I have a top ten power trio list in my head and they are all hot.
And then there's The Jimi Hendrix Experience.

I was like Cannons Ahoy Cream sprang to mind first then I thought hang on there's Jimi.

You know I give the legends respect, both Cream and Hendrix but I am just not a huge fan of their's.:peek

Sacrilege perhaps but I'll toss Triumph out there as well, they were a solid hard working rock band back in the day, "Rock and Roll Machine" is a smoking album.

Rock and Roll Machine is GREAT! I love the song The Blinding Light Show.

Just a Game isn't that bad and though overplayed Allied Forces definately has it's moments. It will be years until I can listen to that one with any joy though. Thank you MTV.

I'd say Rush. But they have been able to play like a 5 piece band for years (even before sequencers). So should they be disqualified? :)

For me it's still a toss-up/mood thing between ZZ Top and Rush.

PS: I heard years ago that Keith Richards once said "ZZ Top is the only band that can blow us off stage" A reliable friend told he read this in an interview, I've yet to track down the article, but I can see Richards saying this.
