I am a bigger fan of Accept and have almost all of their studio releases. I was delayed in picking this new one up.

Before this year, I only had the Legacy of Kings album from Hammerfall. But after seeing them open for Helloween, I am definitely a bigger fan than before and have to start getting more of their material.
Legacy Of Kings is one of my all time favorite albums. I was also at the Helloween show, and seeing Hammerfall was a kind of bucket list band to finally get to see. Other than the piped in backing vocals, I thought they were great. Joacim Cans is one of my favorite vocalists. Those first six Hammerfall albums, before they started with lineup changes, are outstanding.

Humanoid is ok. With Peter Baltes gone, it's really just Wolf left, so I don't know if it has that "Accept magic", but it is a nice solid album that really picks up halfway through.

I got physical copies of the Kings of Mercia Battle Scars album and the House of Lords Full Tilt Overdrive album in the mail yesterday.

And then I stopped by my friend's record shop today where I picked up the following:

Stevie Nicks - The Other Side of the Mirror
Billy Joel - Cold Spring Harbor
Billy Joel - Storm Front
D.A.D. - No Fuel Left for the Pilgrims

I picked up the Rik Emmett solo CD Absolutely and the Stone Fury album Let Them Talk on cassette today. The latter will become an article in my Cassette Chronicles series down the road.

I don't know if you remember, but on the Absolutely tour Rik played The Campus Club in Providence on Earth Day in 1991. It was supposed to be an outdoor show, but it was raining. I remember standing outside for a LONG time to get in. It was an awesome show. Trixter opened...not awesome. lol

Definitely didn't know about that. Hell, I didn't even know this album existed until I saw it yesterday.

Recent vinyl buys at my friends record shop about 30 minute drive from the house.....
all original vinyl.

'Maxophone' (self titled 1975)- Italian prog in a classic vein jazzy/proggy/Canterbury feel and interesting
'Edgar Broughton Band- OORA (1973)-Brit psych rock with blues jazz and folk overtones
'Incredible String Band' -Wee Tam (1968) Scottish psych folk
'Merryweather'- Word of Mouth (1969) Canadian/American psych rock with blues and folk elements
with guest appearances by Steve Miller, Dave Mason, Howard Roberts..etc. Interestingly Neil Merryweather at the end was in the Mynah Birds (66-67),,,, also Neil Young, Bruce Palmer and Rick James...yes that Rick James of funk fame.
'Poco'- Seven (1974)- American country rock ...Rusty Young, George Grantham, Tim Schmit, Paul Cotton....Cotton was in Illinois Speed Press...and Schmit ended up in the Eagles a few years later
