Yes....and it's a very entertaining notion indeed.

Even until about the late 1990s you could still buy pre-recorded rock cassettes from a vast selection of cassettes of bands in the HMV mega store in Oxford street in London's west end and quite a few were US imports as well I recall cos I bought some of them but by the end of the 1990s HMV 'overnight' emptied the shelves and they all vanished!!.
