Long Live Wock 'n' Woll
As someone who also likes Camel, I would recommend Barclay James Harvest. Here's a good song to start with:
I was thinking about BJH, but I didn't mention them as they have quite a lot of mellotron.

Interesting. I've ever heard of this instrument before but it sounds pretty cool. To be honest, I'm new to BJH so I haven't really paid that much attention to their sound yet. I just know that I like it.
i'd love to get into a good prog-rock band.
i'll tell you what i like and dislike in that genre.
do not like yes-too many keyboards.
do not like elp- same reason.
do not like jethro tull.
don't like peter gabriel genesis.
i like some of marillion.
i own two phil collins's genesis which i love-a trick of the tail and wind and wuthering.
i love pink floyd from dark side of the moon onward.
i love supertramp's crime of the century.
i have two roger waters albums-radio kaos and amused to death.
i have two camel albums-snow goose and moonmadness.
that it i think. that may give you a clue as to what i like in a prog-band?
i really don't like a lot of keyboards, although i suppose camel and early supertramp highlighted them.
ideally i'd love to find a band that feature lots of lead guitar, however i imagine most people fancy that, but there aren't that many bands like that around?
thanks.
