Pink Floyd fans who balked at investing in the hefty Early Years, 1965 – 1972 box that arrived in stores last year will soon have an opportunity to purchase individual volumes from the set.

As previously reported, the initial Early Years box — which spans 27 discs collecting roughly 12 hours of audio and 14 hours of video — was released last Nov. 11, offering fans and collectors an “opportunity to hear the evolution of the band and witness their part in cultural revolutions from their earliest recordings and studio sessions to the years prior to the release of The Dark Side of the Moon, one of the biggest selling albums of all time.”

Naturally, all that content comes with a substantial price tag, but when Early Years was announced, the label promised its volumes would eventually be parted out — a process that’s now scheduled for March 24, when six multi-disc book-bound packages are due to arrive.

As with the box, each volume covers a specific period in the band’s history. The first, CAMBRIDGE ST/ATION, follows Floyd from 1965-67, and fills a CD plus a DVD and Blu-ray; each subsequent volume focuses on a single year, with a handful spilling over into a second CD in addition to the DVD/Blu-ray content. It all adds up to a whole bunch of audio and video, although as the press release announcing the new breakouts points out, the full Early Years still includes “extra discs, collectibles and memorabilia exclusive to the box set.”

For complete details on the Early Years individual volume sets or to pre-order copies today, visit the band’s official site.
