Peter Frampton Documenting FCA! 35 Tour With New Release

Grammy-winning guitarist Peter Frampton celebrated the 35th anniversary of his seminal live album ‘Frampton Comes Alive!’ with a tour in 2011 and again with select dates in 2012. Now the legendary musician will document those shows with the release of ‘FCA! 35 Tour: An Evening With Peter Frampton,’ which is slated to arrive on DVD, Blu-ray and CD on Nov. 13 via Eagle Rock Entertainment.

Released in 1976, the double album ‘Frampton Comes Alive!’ catapulted the former Humble Pie guitarist from a modest solo career to one of the the best-selling artists in the world, in the process essentially re-defining what was possible in terms of record sales and promotion in the 1970s. The album launched three all-time classic rock staples in ‘Show Me the Way,’ ‘Do You Feel Like We Do’ and ‘Baby, I Love Your Way.’

Like the live shows it documents, the new project is divided into two sections; the first is devoted to material from ‘Frampton Comes Alive!,’ while the second features songs from the musician’s entire career. The DVD and Blu-ray capture two shows from February of 2012 — one at Milwaukee’s Pabst Theater, and another at the Beacon Theatre in New York. The CD comprises Frampton’s picks of the best versions of various tracks culled from different shows around the world.

“I have tried to find the best musical performances from as many different countries and cities as possible,” Frampton says in a press release. “My MO in choosing these tracks was to make this CD as representative as possible of the entire year of shows. Maybe there’s one you were at, whether you’re from Europe or the US. I’m still going through the 116 versions of ‘Do You Feel…’ as I write this! I might never want to play it again, so you better pick this CD up just in case!”

I was in London Drugs last week, they got a new shipment of vinyl in and "Frampton Comes Alive" was there, $25.00 which is a reasonable price.

But...I owned that when it came out, because "Show Me The Way" hooked me, and "Do You Feel Like We Do", but the rest of the album is...not boring but just lacking to me. When I play UFO's "Stranger's in the Night" or Nugent's "Double Live Gonzo" they hold my attention from beginning to end, Frampton Comes Alive doesn't do that for me.
